Light and Shade
Dappled Light, 30x36, acrylic
I really do enjoy painting trees. In this one the light was very strong in contrast to the shadows. I wanted an overall warm feeling, so I didn't make the shadows too cool. Overall I am quite pleased with the effect.
Hi Lori, I think that they are Douglas Firs. In the photograph they were very dark. I wanted to give them a warmer colour and lighter value to keep the scene more airy feeling.
What a talent you have. Amazed every time you post a work. You have created such an inviting scene.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, Thanks for visiting my blog. Your work is amazing. You have effectively captured the light in this scene! Are they redwood trees?
